If you can't tell already by the new style here on the blog, I am just a little chevron crazy. I've tried to keep it to a minimum, especially around the house, otherwise some people might actually go crazy.

I'm not sure what it is about it, I just love the pattern!

So anyway, way back when, in December I do believe. I started to crochet a blanket. It was going to be made up of granny squares, but I gave up on that and went in another direction.
Finally, after eight months of stopping and starting on it, I have finished. Even after having put it down for two months and doing nothing to it. 

I am so in love with it. It did turn out smaller and more square than what I wanted, but it is the perfect size to use while sitting on the couch, or sits nicely on my side of the bed while I sleep for a little bit of extra warmth.




I can't remember where I got the original instructions on how to do the chevron from, but if anyone is interested, I know it off my heart now. Just a warning, this is in no way going to be a good tutorial or instructions. Mostly me waffling.

First of all, make a chain of how wide/long {depending on which way you want the chevron to run} you want your blanket to be.
DC into the first 7 chains, then 3 DC in one chain.
DC into the next 6 chains, skip 2 chains, DC into the next 6, 3DC into one chain {Does that make sense}
Carry on the part of the pattern that is in italics until you get close to the end. You may have to keep a count. You want there to be seven chains left after the last 3DC into one. 

DC the last 7, turn and continue pattern from the beginning, changing colours as you choose.

So again, sorry for the terrible instructions. maybe I will try and find the one I used at first, or teach myself how to write crochet patterns properly.
